The problem

An industrial logistics customer needed shipment receipt visibility without adding another manual checkpoint. Railcars were moving through the site, but the operational record depended on people confirming identifiers, matching arrivals, and notifying the right teams after the fact.

Solution architecture

Senergy designed a workflow around Axis cameras running edge analytics, Vaxtor OCR for railcar identifier recognition, and Genetec Security Center as the operational system of record. Reads can be routed through Genetec's third-party ALPR/OCR integration path, associated with video, searched later, and used to trigger receipt notifications when expected cars arrive.

Why it mattered

This is the kind of solution Senergy should be proud of because it shows what modern security infrastructure can become. Axis gives us a reliable edge device family, ACAP creates room for specialized analytics, Vaxtor brings purpose-built OCR capability, and Genetec turns those events into usable operator context. The result is not just better surveillance. It is security technology solving a logistics problem.

Systems involved

Axis cameras, Axis ACAP-style edge analytics, Vaxtor railcar OCR, Genetec Security Center, Genetec third-party ALPR/OCR plugin workflows, event metadata, searchable reads, video bookmarks, and notification logic.

Operational outcome

The organization gained a stronger receipt signal, searchable evidence of railcar movement, fewer manual confirmation steps, and a cleaner bridge between physical security infrastructure and logistics operations.

Senergy point of view

Senergy's point of view is that the best platforms earn their place by helping the business beyond the security desk. When Axis, Vaxtor, and Genetec are designed as one workflow, the security system becomes operational infrastructure that helps teams make decisions faster and with better evidence.
